WMCC races


Congratulations to all of our skiers for their wonderful performances!

We were very proud and impressed by the team's performance today, we had a fantastic first day. 

In preparation for Saturday's race, we wanted to remind the team of a few things:

1. It is CRUCIAL to get out and exercise tomorrow! The best way to make sure your body is recovered and ready to race fast again on Saturday is to get outdoors and move around. That said, FMS is hosting a middle school race tomorrow at Pineland, so it will be hard to use the loop after school. I see a few options: go cheer on the middle school skiers and ski after their race (bring your head lamps, as it will get dark); or go for a nice easy jog with some teammates (and practice classic technique by ski walking up the hills). Whichever you choose, make sure you get in 1 - 1.5 hours of activity. 

2. We will be waxing classic race skis on Friday, after practice. If you have classic ROCK skis, you should plan to use these for practice on Friday. Make sure you CLEAN your classic skis TOMORROW. We want kick zones to becompletely clean, to make the waxing process quicker on Friday. 

PARENTS: We are hoping to have some snack foods at the school Friday afternoon, while we wax skis. Waxing on Friday will take longer than it did yesterday, so it would be good for the skiers to have some food while we are waxing. However, since it is the night before a big race, we are hoping for nutritious and substantial food: bread, sandwiches, fruit, yogurt, etc. (less baked goods).
